It’s time to make the move to Lightning Experience

It’s time to make the move to Lightning Experience

It’s time, unless you’ve had your head buried in the sand for over a year, you would have heard of the new Salesforce Lightning Experience interface and its definitely time to make the move.

Lightning Experience has come a long way since the first release, and the feedback from our clients who have made the switch has been very positive. They are now spending less time doing data entry and more time servicing and selling to their customers.

Some key features of Lightning Experience that we are receiving the most positive feedback about include:

    • Google address autocomplete – no more individually completing address fields, just type the address into one line and let Lightning and Google do the searching and prefilling of all the separate address fields for you
    • Lightning Quick Actions – defaulting records with pre-filled data such as a task subject, means less fields for the Salesforce user to complete
    • Sales Path – guiding your sales team visually and with text via ‘Guidance for Success’ means your team know what they need to be doing at each stage of your process. This feature can also be used in other stage driven areas of Salesforce too, not just in your sales process (quotes, contracts etc.).
    • Greater flexibility in dashboard layouts and new clean dashboard graphs
    • Lightning for Outlook – new Outlook add-on that gives you the same Salesforce interface from within Outlook (for Office 365 or Exchange Online customers only)
    • Our geeks in the Big Data Digital team tell us its also pretty cool what you can do in Lightning Components to custom develop a component that sits within the Lightning page layout as well

Please also realise that the ‘Classic’ interface is still available, so even after you migrate your users can always switch back while you’re getting used to the new interface.
